                                              Sometime

What is love? Love is both a good and a bad thing that can happen to every one of us.  This great poem by R.Nathaniel shows us that It is a wonderful thing to be in love, but it’s very hurt when you have to let it go. Truly, a person can be depressed when he or she have to let love go, and for the author of the poem Sometimes it is not easy at all. In this eight lined poem, the author show his deep sadness of missing someone he loves through every words he shows. On the surface, this poem expresses the desire of the author. In the first two lines of the poem, the author thinks about his ex-girlfriend a lot as he counts the hours he thinks of her. He found himself wanting to be with her as he thinks of her. Those lines show an image of a guy who is still deeply in love as the author says, “I count the hours I think of you.” This indicates that the author loves someone, but he could only “think” of that person.

In the next line, “And found myself wanting,” indicates that the author and the one he loves are no longer together. The verb “wanting” in this line shows the desire of the author as he wants to be with the one he loved. However, from those two lines, it indicates that the author can’t be with his lover as he can only think about her and want to be with her. In the next two lines, they describe the wish of the author, as he wants to be someone else to be close to the one he loves. “I wish I was in his shoes,” this sentence shows that he wants to be someone else, and the author specifically says “his” shoes. If this poem was to be given to the author’s lover, the word “his” would indicate that the person that the author loves is now with someone else. The author wants to be that guy, the guy who now has his lover’s heart, and wants to be close with her. He writes, “And found myself coming home,” to show that he wants to go “home,” which is next to the person the author loves. The most depressing lines of the poem are expressed in the next two lines. The author calls out his lover’s name at night but without any answer. The image of the author, sitting in the dark, calling out the name of the one he loves, is extremely sad and sorrowful. Through putting in the word “vacant,” he reveals the emptiness inside his soul as he desperately calls her name in the dark. The image of emptiness and loneliness surrounding the author makes the readers feel sad for him, for the person that has lost his love.
            The depressing image of a man who constantly thinks about his lover, to be someone else just to be next to his lover and having emptiness in his soul create this heartbroken poem. Finally, in the next two lines, he repeats the first line of the poem to show his needs to love for that person. With the finishing sentence, “And found it was all the time,” combining with the previous one, “I count the hours I think of you,” the author wants to convey that he thinks about his lover “all the time,” letting the readers to sympathize with him.

           

The poem has only one stanza and 8 lines, but the author doing a very good job showing his feeling. Showing the love that he have for his girlfriends and how much he love her. I don’t have the very clear rhyme, but when the reader read it, still sound very interesting. The poem have the pefect meter of 8,7,8,7,8,7,8,7,8. The thing that I love about this poem is the author uses a lot of figurative language to make the poem more interesting and make the poem alive. The author using the consonance he repeat a lot of sentence for example like “ I count the hour think of you “ “ And found myself wanting” To show how much he has suffer when she left him to go with other boy. He also uses metaphor “ I wish I was his shoes, and found myself coming home”. He, which that he can be in her ex-girlfriend, boyfriend shoe. So he can bring give the girls friend back to him.

The reason why I choose this poem is because is have a very deep meaning behind it. By reading this poem you can make a lot of different meaning and the situation that happen to the author. In the end we don’t know what actuary happen to the author. We even cannot guess the author is a men or a girl or we know is his ex-girlfriend is dating other man. After reading this people why have a lot of emotional and what to know what really happen to the author. My solution is just one of the many situation that people can think of what really happen to the author.

What is he good at :

The author is doing good job of understanding the story. He know what is the poem talk about. The introduction is grabbing people attention, he so a lot of his own personal feeling for the poem and the deeply meaning of the poem, it make me want to keep reading to see more of the feeling that he had , and what is deeply meaning of the poem. He also do good job of analysis the poem he talk about the lines, the stanza. He also include the rhyme scheme of the poem. When I read his easy I feel that he understand about the author a lot.  He can feel the mentality inside the author, and it like he can feel the same feeling with the author. The reason why he can feel the same way with the author is because he had been in that situation, the same way that the author did. He had an argument with his girlfriend everyday. He feel very tired of it, and after the fight he always feel very bad he just want to stay story to his girlfriend and show how much he love his girlfriend. The thing I love the most about his paper is he organize very logic and smart it very clear and easy to understand, he also analyst every singer stanza in the poem.

What is he need to improve :

In my opinions, I think he talks too much about his own personal feeling and focus a litter bit to much about analyst the poem. He should take more about the author feeling too. Like what is the author feeling when he/she wrote this poem. What make the author into this situation to write this poem? Maybe he can even found out the author is the he or she by analyst mentality of the author. Also is seem like he didn’t have a very clear thesis statement or I think he don’t even have one. He needs to put the thesis statement. And I think he need to include more the relationship between real life and the poem. I saw you give some example but just be more clear about that. And use more hook, because right now you don't have a very clear thesis stantment so maybe you use more hook instead of a clearl thesis. So when the people read your essay they don't get broad. If you have more hook the reader will want to keep reading to see want happen, because your hook make them want to read more and more.

theater review

On Friday may 20, 2016. I had a chance to see the last performance at Cheshire academy black box this year. The performance calls the “ comedy tonight ” is an mix of skits and songs.  In my opinions the “ comedy tonight ” is the best performance I have saw all year compare to the other 2 I watch before in earlier this year. One of the reasons is because comedy is the type of theater performance that I love the most. Because I like the way that they make me laugh. In my free time I always watching comedy but in Vietnamese. This is my first time watching it in English.   After 2 hours watching the performance, I think to myself that I have not waste my Friday night for this. The show was very wonderful and funny. I like the way that in different skit is the different story, and is had been organize in a very smart way. Each and every story is very funny is not just make me laugh a lot, is also make other people laugh too. The skit the I love the most is the “ morning meeting gone wrong” that is the skit that make me laugh the most. In the skit show again the mooring meeting sense and the character of some of the faculty in the school.  They not just doing the good job of acting out character of the faculty member they also do it in the funny ways. I also saw myself on it, because I always make a mistake between Ms. Minahan and Ms. Monahan.  And when I ever I said “ bye Ms. Monahan “ She always said “ is Minhahan. The performance not just make me laugh a lot,  somehow is also make me watch to get in the Cheshire academy theater team, because I what to make people laugh too. But I affect that I cannot do good like they did. I can see that the team have to spend a lot of time in this.
